Project Overview

Our World Too is a UK-based community initiative dedicated to raising awareness around neurodiversity, mental health, and inclusive living. The goal of this project was to reimagine their digital presence to better reflect the organisation’s mission, strengthen engagement, and streamline access to resources, support services, and community stories.

We partnered with Our World Too to design and build a modern, inclusive, accessible, and community-focused website that helps visitors understand the organisation’s purpose and easily connect with the content and support they need.

Project execution

1. Strategy & Brand Positioning

We began by refining Our World Too’s digital tone — shifting from a simple informational layout to a mission-driven, empathetic, and community-centric experience.

Our approach ensured the website:

  • Clearly communicates the organisation’s purpose and values
  • Strengthens credibility through clean, supportive messaging
  • Offers an intuitive journey for individuals seeking information and community resources

We also aligned typography, iconography, and visuals to reflect a friendly, inclusive, and accessible brand personality that resonates with diverse audiences.

2. UX Research & Information Architecture

Before design or code, we mapped key user journeys to understand how different visitors interact with the content. These included:

  • Individuals seeking mental health and neurodiversity information
  • Families, caregivers, and supporters
  • Professionals and community partners

With these user needs in mind, we redesigned the website’s structure to make it easier for visitors to find resources, join programmes, and explore community stories.

Key UX outputs:

  • A reorganized sitemap focused on clarity and resource access
  • Clear content categories (About, Programmes, Resources, Get Involved, Contact)
  • High-visibility calls-to-action based on user intent
  • Intuitive navigation that reduces cognitive load

3. Full Website Redesign & Development

With strategy and UX defined, we delivered a full end-to-end redesign that balances aesthetics with functionality.

Design & development highlights:

  • A welcoming homepage that clearly communicates the mission
  • Modular content driven by a CMS so Our World Too can update pages independently
  • Resource pages with easy-to-digest layouts
  • Fully responsive design to ensure accessibility on mobile and tablet

Technical outcomes:

  • Fast, performant user experience
  • Support for multimedia content (stories, videos, imagery)
  • Accessibility-focused design to support users with diverse needs

4. SEO & Discoverability Foundation

To ensure the site is not only beautiful but discoverable, we implemented foundational SEO and technical optimisations.

Our work included:

  • Keyword alignment with mental health and neurodiversity topics
  • Optimised meta titles, descriptions, and structured data
  • Clean URL architecture for better search indexing
  • Image optimisation and performance enhancements

This setup laid a solid groundwork for long-term organic visibility and audience reach.

5. Engagement & Lead Capture Enhancements

To support community growth and participation, we implemented conversion-focused elements:

  • Prominent sign-up forms for mailing lists and event updates
  • Clear pathways for volunteering and support engagement
  • Seamless contact and feedback forms to connect users with the team
  • Backend tracking to monitor engagement and interactions

This established an effective engagement funnel:
Discover → Engage → Connect → Participate

6. Ongoing Support & Growth Partnership

Post-launch, we continued supporting Our World Too with technical maintenance and iterative improvements:

  • Regular site updates and performance monitoring
  • Content support and SEO adjustments
  • UX improvements based on user behaviour insights
  • Strategic guidance for platform growth

Our ongoing collaboration supports the organisation as it expands its impact and community outreach.
